What is an AR product configurator?

An AR product configurator lets shoppers customize a product in 3D and then view the selected configuration in their real environment through augmented reality. It connects product options, 3D visualization, and AR preview in one ecommerce flow.

How is it different from a standard AR viewer?

A standard AR viewer generally shows one fixed product model in a real space. An AR product configurator lets the shopper choose available visual options first, then launches AR with that selected product appearance.

What can customers configure with Zolak?

Zolak’s standard configurator supports visual options such as colors, materials, textures, fabrics, and finishes. The available choices are defined for each product during setup.

Can customers change the product while they are in AR?

The primary customization experience happens in the 3D configurator. Customers select their visual options there, then open that selected version in AR. This keeps the selection process clear while AR focuses on real-space preview.

Does the selected configuration carry into AR?

Yes. The AR preview can show the material, color, texture, fabric, or finish selected by the customer in the configurator.

Does it require a mobile app?

Can it connect with an ecommerce store and cart?

Yes. Zolak can be embedded into product pages and integrated with ecommerce platforms including Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, PrestaShop, Salesforce, BigCommerce, Wix, and Shopware. The configurator can be connected to your product, cart, and checkout workflow; the exact implementation depends on your storefront and product setup.

Can Zolak prepare the 3D models?

At minimum, the experience needs an accurate, web-optimized GLB model with correct real-world proportions and PBR texture maps. For configurable products, Zolak also needs the product-variation data and any rules that define valid selections.
